Submissions

We publish books that put faith back in the driver's seat.

Aldersgate Publishing is open to query submissions from authors writing thoughtfully at the intersection of Christian faith, politics, and public life. If you have a manuscript or proposal in that vein, we'd like to hear from you.

What We Publish

Nonfiction with conviction.

We're drawn to work that takes faith seriously as a force that shapes public life, not just private belief. Broadly, we consider proposals in these areas:

Christian Faith & Theology

Works on holiness, discipleship, church life, and theology written for a thoughtful general readership.

Politics & Public Life

Honest, well-argued nonfiction on how faith and political conviction meet, in both directions.

Social & Cultural Issues

Books that engage the pressing questions of the day with clarity, charity, and theological grounding.

History

Narrative and analytical history, especially where faith and public life have shaped the American story.

Christian Living

Practical, substantive works on sanctification and spiritual formation, free of easy answers.

Biography & Memoir

Life stories that illuminate faith under real pressure, particularly in public or political settings.

The Query

What to include

A strong first query is short and specific. Please include the following in a single email:

  1. i.A brief synopsis: one or two paragraphs describing the book, its argument, and who it's for.
  2. ii.A chapter outline or table of contents: enough to show the book's shape and progression.
  3. iii.Estimated word count and expected completion date, if the manuscript isn't finished.
  4. iv.Author bio: your background, relevant platform, and why you're positioned to write this book.
  5. v.A sample chapter (optional but welcome), attached as a PDF or Word document.

A few notes before you send

  • Please query first. We're not able to review unsolicited full manuscripts.
  • We currently publish nonfiction only.
  • If you haven't heard back within our response window below, feel free to follow up once.
  • Simultaneous submissions to other publishers are fine. Just let us know in your email.

Two paths, clearly separate

Aldersgate also offers paid publishing services for authors who prefer to self-publish. That is a separate path, described on our Services page, and submitting your query here never obligates you to it. If we decline your submission, we will not pitch you our services. The two doors stay separate, and you choose which one to walk through.
